SUMMARY:Rangeley Public Library’s Annual Chalk Art Contest
DESCRIPTION:Rangeley Public Library invites all our young local artists to decorate the sidewalks of Rangeley! We accept all age ranges from 6-18. This year's theme is in keeping with our Children's Summer Program\, "Unearth a Story." What wonders lie just below the dirt? You tell us! Or better yet\, show us with some fantastic chalk art! Think digging\, dirt\, bugs\, roots\, treasure\, dinosaurs\, holes to the center of the earth- and anything else one could find hidden in the ground! Artists will sign up at the Library ahead of time\, then check in on the day to be assigned a 3ftx3ft square of sidewalk in town. They may use any chalk they bring themselves (we kindly ask for no oil pastels). The Rangeley Public Library will also be selling chalk from our Gift Shop in the weeks leading up and on the day of for those who can't get out of town to pick up supplies. Artists have from 10am - 2pm on the day to fill in their artist's square. We suggest all artists bring water and wear bright colors.
