The New England Watercolor Society presents a Brushes with Nature event: Small Falls. Come paint just south of the town of Rangeley at the Smalls Falls rest area that provides two of the most scenic falls in New England. All four sets of falls are a painter's delight and are set among the most colorful gorges in the region, consisting of beiges, oranges, greens, blacks, browns, gold, and ivory. There are plenty of places from which to paint en plein air, with a series of trails that lead to popular pools at multiple levels with spectacular plunges, cascades, and horsetail views. There is also a picnic area with tables and a public bathroom located only in the free parking area. Event and parking are Free. Plan to pack a lunch and snacks.
