The Wilhelm Reich Museum Eclipse Viewing

The Wilhelm Reich Museum Eclipse Viewing

Monday, April 8, 2024

Description

The Wilhelm Reich Museum is listed on the town Chamber of Commerce website as one of the possible viewing sites in the Rangeley area, and the public is most welcome to come to view the eclipse at Orgonon. Our lower gates will be closed to avoid congestion up on the hill, and parking will be available only alongside the main entrance driveway. Once that area fills up, please do not park in a manner that blocks cars that are already parked. Once parked, please walk up the driveway to join us atop the hill. The beginning of the partial eclipse, when the Moon begins to pass in front of the Sun, will occur around 2:20 p.m. The period of totality, which will last just over 2 minutes, will occur right around 3:30 p.m. The second phase of the partial eclipse, as the Sun begins to emerge from behind the Moon, will continue until about 4:40 p.m. We strongly recommend that everyone obtain eye protection to view the eclipse. We will have a limited number of eclipse glasses for $2 a pair. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide public restrooms. Let's hope for clear weather. We wish everyone safe travels centered around what will surely be a memorable event!
