Restaurant Manager

The Rangeley Inn & Tavern has an immediate opening for a Restaurant Manager.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality and the food and beverage industry. Exceptional customer service skills are essential – as well as the ability to build lasting relationships with our patrons and team members.


The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of breakfast, dinner, and special events at The Rangeley Inn & Tavern.  This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 5 shifts per week - predominantly evenings.


Essential Functions

  • Oversee the smooth operation of breakfast, dinner, and special event services.
  • Ensure that dining areas are thoroughly cleaned, presentable, and welcoming.
  • Clearly assign and delegate responsibilities.
  • Manage schedules for successful operation and profitability.
  • Address any concerns about quality or service and offer productive feedback to kitchen or front of house team members.
  • Make recommendations to the Executive Chef for seasonal updates to the menu.
  • Edit, publish, and print menu updates as necessary.
  • Regular updates and troubleshooting of the POS system.
  • Recruiting and onboarding for all new Food & Beverage team members.
  • Ongoing training and development for Front of House team members.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, to exceed food code requirements.
  • Cash reconciliation.


Related Functions

  • Ensure that common areas, restrooms, hallways and entryways are safe, presentable and welcoming.
  • Confirm that staff areas are locked when we are not in service.
  • Address any urgent maintenance issues or bring them to the General Manager.
  • While on-site in the evening, backstop the Lodging Operations Manager by resolving any urgent issues for overnight guests.
  • Plan for twice-annual shutdown periods, including inventorying of supplies, deep-cleaning, and sub-contracted maintenance of equipment.


This is a salaried, overtime-exempt position with potential for seasonal bonuses.
